DK is a music/ experimental theater/ media art project from Colombia, currently based at Gothenburg, Sweden. The troupe began to work in 2004. Ángela Hoyos, plays in the project with sound poetry and sequences of movements, and Juan Hernández, with sequencers and keyboards. In the beginning of 2007 the troupe released their debut album entitled De Mente BlanKa, presented several concerts in Bogotá and did a digital short film out of the song La Hache No Sueña, directed by Colombian filmmaker Felipe Cardona.
Ángela and Juan moved to Gothenburg in September 2007, as part of the C:Art:Media master's programe, to explore new possibilities for their performances related to the use of physical interfaces on the stage and to discover the local culture. Nästa album, entitled after the Swedish word for 'next' - listened to in the city's trams, buses and ferries - gathers and disassembles different impressions during this journey. Sounds coming from the experimentation with interfaces made out of daily objects like washing gloves or toy cranks are intertwined with the music and the spoken voices.
